Personal public events
Host agreement
You're about to open your home to people you may not already know. This document is the deal between you and Full Uproar Games about how we do that together: what you're responsible for, what we handle, and what we can't promise.
What this is
This is a hosting agreement between you and Full Uproar Games, Inc. It applies only when you publish a public event you're hosting personally (at your home, apartment, backyard, or a place you personally control, not a business or a public venue). Private events, and events you host at a venue that's registered with us separately, aren't covered by this document.
You have to accept this once before your first public personal event goes live. If we update the terms in a way that matters, we'll ask you to accept the new version before your next publish.
You're the host
You are responsible for what happens at your event. That means: who you accept, how you run the night, what you serve, whether the place is safe, and how you handle it if something goes wrong. We can help you reduce risk with the tools we've built (RSVP approval, per-user block, age gating on public events, a private location that only unlocks to accepted guests), but we're a platform, not a co-host. We don't send anyone to your event.
You will follow all applicable laws where your event happens: occupancy limits, local noise rules, alcohol laws (including anti-social-host rules that hold you liable for underage drinking), tax rules if you charge for anything, and anything else your city or state requires. We don't check any of this for you.
What we do
Government-ID verification through Stripe Identity is required to publish this event. A stranger can ask to join without verifying; before you share the address with them, you have accepted them and their ID is verified. Guests you invite directly are not asked to verify. Verification reduces (it does not eliminate) the risk of impersonation. We enforce age gating on public events tagged 18+ or 21+ at the RSVP layer and at the event detail page. We keep your exact address hidden from strangers until they're approved and verified.
We give you a Report button, a Block feature (where enabled), and a moderation queue we watch. We won't share your address with anyone we haven't verified as an accepted guest.
We don't run background checks on your guests. Background checks in a consumer context are unreliable and can create a false sense of security. We're honest about this so you can size the risk for yourself.
What we might do if things go wrong
If a report comes in about your event, or if we see behavior that suggests risk to attendees, we can remove your event, suspend your ability to publish new public events, or in serious cases suspend your account. We try to talk to you first when time permits.
If a law enforcement agency serves valid legal process, we may share information consistent with our privacy policy.
What we do not warrant
We don't guarantee anyone's behavior: yours, your guests', or anyone else's. We don't guarantee your event will succeed, that anyone will show up, that people will get along, or that nothing will go wrong. We provide a platform. We're not a security service, a legal advisor, an insurance provider, or a chaperone. If something serious happens, call local emergency services (911 in the US), same as any other gathering at your home.
By accepting this you acknowledge you've read this, you understand what we do and don't do, and you accept responsibility for your event. If any of that doesn't sit right, don't accept. Host private events instead, or use a venue that's registered with us separately.
Changes
We can update this. When we do, we bump the version and require you to accept the new one before your next public personal event goes live. You can always find the current version at gamestead.app/host-agreement.
